Good Samaritan Volunteering

Providing service support to our clients and residents, volunteers play a major role in the quality of life provided to individuals in our care. Over 600 volunteers of The Good Samaritan Society and Good Samaritan Canada contributed over 20,000 hours in 2021 to assist us in enhancing comfort to over 5,000 residents and clients.

In addition to personally rewarding and important volunteer tasks, we provide volunteers with orientation, training and support, and further educational opportunities.

Well Wishes

Welcome to the Good Samaritan well wishes page.

This form allows you to send a message to a loved one that is currently in our care.

The email is checked every weekday and is hand-delivered by staff to residents/clients in the afternoon.

Messages received after 1 p.m., on weekends, or statutory holidays will be delivered the next business day.

Please note that this tool is only to be used for well wishes – any other type of communication or messages (emails conducting personal business, containing questionable content, or solicitations) will not be delivered and will be deleted from the system.

Any photographs submitted will be printed and given to the client, or shown to the client electronically. Once the client has a printed copy, or has been shown the photograph, the original file will be deleted. The GSS/GSC will not store any photographs and the person submitting the photograph does so at their own risk. The photographs will not be filed on the client record, nor will they remain in the custody or control of the GSS/GSC.
