The impact donors have on our residents and clients is immeasurable. Help us Make Life More beautiful, joyful, and soulful with a donation to bring additional therapies, programming, and comforts to our residents and clients.
The Good Samaritan Society and Good Samaritan Canada are leading faith-based, not-for-profit, registered charities in Western Canada that provides quality accommodations, health and community care services, and programs to senior individuals.
We are proud to deliver care and accommodations for a range of needs including providing independent living, supportive/assisted living, long-term/complex care, day programs, a Seniors’ Clinic, and programs for persons with developmental disabilities.
This is who we are, where we are, and what we offer:
28 care homes
20 communities in Alberta & British Columbia
3,600+ employees
2,300+ volunteers
7,600+ residents and clients
To deliver efficient and effective care, we dedicate
95 cents of every dollar to front-line care, services, and accommodations.
Every day, The Good Samaritan Society and Good Samaritan Canada are entrusted to care for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, coaches, and friends, and we could not be more honoured to take on that responsibility. For over 68 years, we have dedicated ourselves to providing the highest level of quality care and quality accommodations to those in need.
Donors have the power to transform comfortable accommodations into remarkable homes. Each dollar gifted directly impacts our ability to provide enriching programming and care.
With your help, we can create even warmer, happier homes for thousands of individuals. We have the opportunity to take life and make it more spiritual, accessible, and creative.
Together, we will provide the best comfort and the most supportive homes for seniors and the disabled in our communities.
We use donations to create lovely spaces, add innovative technologies, and engage with our residents and clients in new and exciting ways. Donations are used to provide:
Art therapy
Music therapy
Gardens
Gazebos
Chaplain Service
Hymnals
Stained Glass Windows
Improved Lifts

And Much More
As a not-for-profit organization, all care-related funding The Good Samaritan Society and Good Samaritan Canada receives is regulated by the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs). There are defined maximums within these regulations that we can charge for accommodations as well as the hours of care that we must provide.
These funds cover the minimum level of care for our residents and clients, but we aspire to provide more, including spiritual care, improved resident comforts, and additional therapies, none of which are funded by the RHAs.
As a charity, The Good Samaritan Society raises funds to provide loving care and quality service to honour the diverse population we serve. Donations to our charity allow us to enhance the programs and services we offer to more than 6000 people.
