Our first annual peer-to-peer fundraiser walk in collaboration with The Grand Parade on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at Gold Bar Park. This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, help get support for our homes and programs, and enjoy a day of community and camaraderie.
For more information and to register your team, please go to https://thegrandparade.org/location/edmonton. On that page you can register your team, donate to a team or walker, sign up to volunteer, post photos, etc. More details will be forthcoming on the page (event route, etc.)
We are hoping for participation from across all of our care homes (staff, volunteers, residents and families) – while our main event will be in Edmonton (at Gold Bar Park), other locations can run their own walks virtually. But we’d like everyone to register through the Edmonton event.
All the funds raised by care homes will stay with care homes!
Get Involved!
To ensure the success of this event, we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to step up as Team Captains. As a Captain, you will play a pivotal role in organizing and leading a team, motivating participants, and helping to maximize our fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities of a Captain:
- Registering a team online
- Inviting others to join in
- Raising money together
On TGP Day, Captains ensure their teammates check-in, stick together, and have tons of fun. If you are interested in becoming a Captain or would like to learn more about the role please refer to the following link: https://thegrandparade.org/teamcaptains
If you don’t want to be a Captain or walk the walk but want to participate, we also need volunteers and cheerleaders on our day. Please reach out to funddev@gss.org for more information.
