The past few years have been extremely isolating for our residents due to lockdowns, outbreaks and restrictions brought on by the pandemic. Until this summer, we had been unable to make use of our duet bikes. This year, however, we finally got the green light and have made it our mission to get as many residents out and about as possible.
Okanagan summers can often bring heat warnings and smoke from wildfires, but so far this year we’ve had clear skies and nice days aplenty. With no heat dome and very low fire activity in the region, we’ve been able to take many of our residents for scenic rides around Kelowna or down to Gyro Beach on Okanagan Lake. The residents thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the Valley, looking for birds, smiling at passerby’s, marveling at the new construction around the neighborhoods, and seeing all of the people enjoying life at the beach! Norma, Babe, Ruby, Yvonne and Elsie are just a handful of our residents who have experienced the joy the duet bike can bring and it is written all over their faces!
