Christmas Appeal

The angel reassured the shepherds saying “Don’t be afraid! I bring you Good News of Great Joy for everyone. The Saviour – yes the Messiah, the Lord – has been born tonight” Luke 2:10-11

Christmas is coming, and excitement is in the air!

Christmas is such a wonderful time of gathering together with family and friends, remembering childhood stories of Christmases past and perhaps exchanging gifts with those we love. It is a time when traditions are important; singing Christmas carols, baking Christmas cookies and decorating our homes with angels and stars and twinkling lights. Christmas is just as important to our Good Samaritan residents. They help us to decorate and bake. They sing carols and share stories of their youth.

It is a pleasure to serve our residents and to help provide joy and peace at this stage of their life.  As a faith-based organization, our mission is to extend Christian hospitality through a continuum of care to those who are in need or at risk regardless of race or religious belief.  We try to provide experiences that resonate with each person, respecting their culture and traditions.

Not all residents have family or friends close by, and we are committed to supporting them through our listening presence and by creating activities to help them feel valued.

As the angel reassured the shepherds saying “Don’t be afraid. I bring you Good News of Great Joy” we too want to bring this feeling and warmth to everyone in our homes.  We invite you to give a gift through a financial donation so that we can provide our residents with additional comforts and offer the promise of hope, love, peace and joy.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.
