As a not-for-profit organization, all care-related funding The Good Samaritan Society and Good Samaritan Canada receive is regulated by the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs). There are defined maximums within these regulations that we can charge for accommodations and the hours of care we must provide.
These funds cover the minimum level of care for our residents and clients. Still, we aspire to provide more, including spiritual care, improved resident comforts, and additional therapies, none of which are funded by the RHAs.
As a charity, The Good Samaritan Society raises funds to provide loving care and quality service to honour the diverse population we serve. Donations to our charity allow us to enhance the programs and services we offer to more than 6000 people.
