Just like roots are essential for trees to bloom, volunteers are essential for The Good Samaritan society to boom! Resilient and strong, our volunteers make a difference through sharing time, talent, and love, and blooming compassion, support, and energy. We are thankful for the many registered volunteers who have made the choice to volunteer with our organization, sharing their time and talent in a variety of avenues.
During National Volunteer Week, we say “Thank You!” to our community-minded volunteers!
Take a walk in a forest, amongst the weathered old tress and the tender shoots, youth to old age and observe! Like a forest, it is splendid that each of our volunteers has chosen to spend a bit of their journey with The Good Samaritan Society for their own personal reason! A volunteer program is meant to be a place where everyone works together for the betterment of those served, a place where everyone flourishes because the environment is safe, peoples’ needs are cared for individually, and where each person shares meaningful moments to make a difference to benefit someone else. Like nurtured trees and plants, people volunteering in a positive environment, have a joyful presence!!!

God is watering us, and prepares our hearts so the seed of love can grow. Each day, each volunteer experience enriches new soil for growth. For an experience of shared benefits, nothing can compare with the daily, year in, year out, awesome engagement of our volunteers. Today’s volunteer has many obligations and often volunteers for multiple organizations. Because their time is valuable, volunteers want flexibility around their schedule. But more importantly, they want to make a difference, and to see how their involvement has impacted those they serve, and they consider their time valuable!
Volunteers come to the The Good Samaritan Society to give; however, they do wish something in return, whether that be developing new skills, exposure to the healthcare environment, an opportunity to socialize with new friends and “belong”, or teaching their family to give and serve. Our Volunteers are a beautiful forest of individuals who share their unique gifts.
