Whether you live in an urban centre or a rural area, a Good Samaritan is always nearby.

Good Samaritan offers excellent accommodations and community services in 20 communities in Alberta and British Columbia communities. You can find one of our care homes close to you and your family.

Spirituality gives meaning and purpose to life in the context of relationships with self, others, nature, music, or a higher power. It may or may not include belonging to a church or religion.

Spiritual care is the intentional care of a person’s spiritual needs (spirituality) to assist in the growth of spiritual well-being and lower spiritual distress. It involves finding purpose and meaning in life and may include a connection to the transcendent.

Good Samaritan began as a faith-based organization seeking to serve its neighbours. This history has become part of our foundational mission statement, encouraging our community to offer hospitality from this history, acknowledging holistic care as part of our model, and understanding our relationship with one another as communal.

Holistic care is practiced across Good Samaritan as part of our being and belonging approach. If you have questions about spiritual health, spiritual programming, or care, reach out to any team member or email us at mission@gss.org. All Good Samaritan locations have a chaplain who supports spiritual care programming as a member of the Mission, Ethics, Research, and Reconciliation department.
