Continuing Care [AB]
Good Samaritan Continuing Care services provide comfort for individuals with complex, unpredictable medical needs requiring 24-hour on-site Registered Nurse assessment and treatment.
Good Samaritan provides compassionate care and support for individuals who require ongoing medical treatment and assistance with daily living. These programs are designed to cater to the unique needs of each resident, offering a range of services, including 24-hour care, rehabilitation, and personalized care plans. The goal is to enhance the quality of life for residents by creating a supportive and respectful environment that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being. Good Samaritan emphasizes holistic care, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those they serve.
Continuing Care Home – Type A (formerly Long Term Care)
These environments offer onsite RN and/or registered psychiatric nurse (RPN) care, assessment and/or treatment 24-hours a day. Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) may also be onsite, as well as health care aides (HCAs) to provide personal care and support. Some care homes have specialized programs and services available for residents with complex clinical or complex functional care requirements (e.g., rehabilitation).
Admission
Admissions are coordinated through Alberta Health Services.
Continuing Care Home – Type B (formerly Designated Supportive Living)
These environments feature a purposeful home-like atmosphere with 24-hour a day onsite professional and personal care provided by LPNs and HCAs. Our care homes are specifically designed with common areas and features, including private space and a safe, secure and barrier-free environment.
Continuing Care Home – Type B Secure Space (formerly Designated Supportive Living 4-Dementia)
These care homes feature a purposeful design specific to the needs of person with dementia. With small, home-like groupings of private bedrooms, they are structurally designed with a familiar atmosphere and safety features to meet the individual’s unique needs.
