The Good Samaritan Society, a Lutheran Social Service Organization, is a not-for-profit, registered charity with over 65 years of experience providing specialized health and community care services in innovative and caring environments.
Some might say that the best part of the holidays is the time we spend with our family and friends. And we are so grateful for the gift of time! This year, Christmas is going to look very different for our Good Samaritan residents, individuals, staff, volunteers and loved ones as we keep our distance to help keep those most at risk healthy.
The Good Samaritan Christmas Angels Program helps to ensure that each resident and individual in our care receives a gift during the holiday season. The items requested are often those that many take for granted such as clothing, toiletries, puzzles, books, and so much more.
We had the opportunity to connect with Adrienne, a resident at Good Samaritan Mill Woods Centre, and she shared some of her “wishes” this Christmas season including movies, toys, shampoo, toothpaste and movie passes.
The need for our Christmas Angels Program has never been greater, as instead of coming together to celebrate and rejoice during the holiday season we will be distancing ourselves from those we care about the most.
Please consider making a gift today to support the Christmas Angels Program or any other program dear to your heart to bring joy to residents like Adrienne and the more than 3,000 people who call Good Samaritan home.
